Schoendorff is also an active performer, conductor, and former public school music educator. He has performed with the Ann Arbor Concert Band, the Hillsdale Wind Symphony, and the Saginaw Eddy Concert Band. He is also a former guest conductor for the Ann Arbor Concert Band. He has taught instrumental music in the Coldwater (Michigan) Community Schools and maintains a position teaching theory and composition at the Mott Community College Jim Lee Fine Arts Camp in Flint, MI.
First published as an undergraduate at Western Michigan University, he continues an active writing and publishing career. His music is published by Grand Mesa Music Publishers, TRN Music Publisher, MSB Publishing Co., Advance Music, and the Tuba Press, and he is a member of ASCAP.
Schoendorff is currently pursuing doctoral work in music composition at Michigan State University, where he studies with Jere Hutcheson and is a graduate assistant in music theory. He received his masters of music from Michigan State University and bachelors of music in composition and education from Western Michigan University, where he studied with Curtis Curtis-Smith, Richard Adams, and Robert Ricci.
