Composers

<p>Jorge Vargas has been at the forefront of the mariachi education movement in Texas for many years. He is a graduate of The University of Texas-San Antonio with a degree in music education, and he also has his Master&rsquo;s degree in education with a principal certificate from Lamar University.</p><p>Although he primarily composes and arranges for mariachi ensemble, Vargas has also composed and arranged for marching band, concert band, and now, string orchestra.</p><p>Jorge is currently the head band director and mariachi director at Memorial Junior High School in Eagle Pass, Texas.</p>
