Written by a Colorado composer who himself is a middle school band director, this work was commissioned by and dedicated to the Franklin Middle School and of Greeley, Colorado. Vogel here displays a very seasoned understanding of how to write for less experienced bands without sacrificing creativity and musical excitement. The work was written as a tribute to the patriotic spirit of the American people in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 World Trade Center tragedy.
